MXF for Production - AS-10 - Dan Shockley
Dan Shockley of CNN describes how the Advanced Media Workflow Association (AMWA) is developing a constrained version of MXF for end-to-end production workflows including camera acquisition, server acquisition, editing, playout, digital distribution and archive. The AMWA specification, MXF for Production, AS-10 is in development.
Framework for Interoperable Media Services (FIMS)
Brad Gilmer talks with Butch Stearns of the Pulse Network (www.thepulsenetwork.com) at NAB 2012. Brad talks about about the Framework for Interoperable Media Services (FIMS). This is a joint AMWA/EBU project to develop standards for the application of the service-oriented architecture (SOA) to next generation media factories. MXF for Program Contribution - AS-11, Part One - Ian Wimsett
Ian Wimsett, Senior Technologist at Red Bee Media, describes the Advanced Media Workflow Association (AMWA, www.amwa.tv) specification 'MXF for Contribution, AS-11 in part 1 of a two-part presentation. AS-11 is a vendor-neutral subset of the MXF file format to use for delivery of finished programming from program producers and distributors to broadcast stations. AS-11 Files are intended to be complete and ready for playout. AS-11 supports SD video encoded as D-10, 50Mbit/s, and HD as AVC-Intra Class 100. Audio can be PCM, AC-3 or Dolby E. The presentation was recorded on the AMWA booth at NAB 2011.

MXF for Commercial Delivery - AS-12 - Harold Geller
Harold Geller, Chief Growth Officer at Ad-ID (www.ad-id.org), describes how the new AMWA specification, MXF for Commercials - AS-12, provides a standard format for the delivery of commercials. MXF for Commercials provides for explicit identification of content that facilitates computer-assisted matching of commercial assets to the playlist from traffic. This presentation was delivered on the AMWA booth at NAB 2012.
AMWA Update, Part One - Brad Gilmer
Brad Gilmer, Executive Director of the Advanced Media Workflow Association (AMWA www.amwa.tv) gave visitors the the AMWA booth at NAB 2011 a progress report on the work of the AMWA. The Association continues to create specification for the use of MXF in typical media workflows. The association is also working with the EBU on the FIMS project. In part 1, Gilmer describes the advances made over recent months in the development of Applications Specifications for the use of MXF. These constrained versions of MXF enable simple file exchange for the media factories that reversion content for delivery to multiple platforms.
