AS-07 MXF Archiving & Preservation Brief Description (pdf)

At the request of the Federal Agencies/Library of Congress, the AMWA is launching a new application specification, AS-07: MXF Archiving & Preservation. This new AS is a vendor neutral sub-set of MXF for long-term archiving and preservation of moving image essence and associated materials including audio, still images, captions and metadata.

The specification is still in progress. On September 4, 2015, a revised version of AS-07 was prepared for review by memory institution archivists and other interested persons. These drafts are subject to change without notice and should not be referred to as AMWA Application Specifications. Distribution does not constitute publication.

The reader's attention is called to the possibility that elements within this review draft, if implemented, may require use of subject matter covered by patent rights. The distribution of this document for review should not be construed to represent a position taken by AMWA with respect to the existence or validity of any claim or of a patent right(s) in connection therewith.
