  • AAF Software Developers' Course

The AAF software developers' course is comprised of a series of eight presentations and programming examples. Time is divided between presentations, and hands-on programming. Students work through programming examples that are relevant to each presentation. The work progresses from an overview of the AAF object model, to creating a simple first AAF file, handling essence data, through to creating, and reading, a simple composition. Attendees come up to speed quickly on knowledge required to understand the AAF object model, COM programming API, and typical programming practice.

Attendees should be experienced C++ software developers. Attendees must supply their own computer complete with compiler. A Window's computer running Visual C++ 7.1, or a recent version of Linux is suggested. Sufficient time will be allocated to write actual software during the three days. Students should be prepared to do so. Roughly 50% of the time will be spent working through coding examples.

Prior to the training, registrants will be sent the latest tutorial slides to review. The course training hours are 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, with a lunch break.
