For Immediate Release
AIST First Company Offering Consumer & Professional Video Products Supporting AAF
(Amsterdam / 8th September 2000) At IBC 2000, Europe's largest professional video exhibition, AIST MediaLab AG announced its full commitment to the open Advanced Authoring Format (AAF). This announcement underlines AIST's continuing efforts to provide the most open video platform on the market. AIST is the first company that offers consumer products with AAF support.
"We think it is not only important for our professional solutions to offer AAF support.", says Jan Weigner, Business Development Manager at AIST MediaLab AG, "All our video software products, whether consumer or professional, are fully compatible to each other and can exchange project files already today. So it only makes sense for them to be able to exchange data with other vendors' packages as well. That's what we at AIST understand an open platform to be."
AIST recognises the need for cross application and platform data exchange and is fully committed to AAF and will integrate full AAF support in all its products. Thanks to the modular nature of AIST's MovieX® technology, which is the basis of all AIST products, AAF support will be a plug-in, which also allows all existing AIST customers to easily add this functionality without having to re-install any software. AIST is also fully committed to other recognised industry standards and supports formats such as MPEG1/2/4, Quicktime and many more.
