AMWA Holds First Media Service Architecture Group Engineering Meeting in Glendale, CA

Atlanta, GA - 16 July 2024: The Advanced Media Workflow Association (AMWA) announced that it held the first meeting of its Media Service Architecture Group (MSAG) in Glendale, CA on June 21st, 2007. The MSAG is responsible for providing information on architectures, APIs and best practices for enterprise-level Service Oriented Architectures in digital media workflows through the production of reference documents, educational information, examples, and appropriate specifications.

"When the AMW Association said it would expand its remit to include Service Oriented Architectures, we knew there was a lot of interest in the industry, but we had no idea our first meeting would be so well attended." said Brad Gilmer, Executive Director of the AMWA. "We believe this work is critical to the industry as it transitions from tape to file-based workflows."

"I am delighted to see the fantastic interest that the formation of the Media Services Architecture Group has received from the industry," said John Footen, Chairman of the MSAG, and vice president of National TeleConsultants, Inc. "As Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) expands into our industry, we look forward to even greater participation from media companies and vendors interested in improving their file based workflows."
