Mark Horton to Host Advanced Media Workflow Association October Event
Live demonstration will feature leading vendors demonstrating end-to-end interoperability using AMWA specifications and MXF in a typical content creation workflow.
Atlanta, GA – October 16, 2009: The Advanced Media Workflow Association (AMWA) has announced that industry veteran Mark Horton will act as Master of Ceremonies at the upcoming Seminar on Advanced Media Workflows and MXF, October 26, 2009, at the Hollywood Renaissance Hotel, Hollywood California, USA.
The seminar is a pre-conference event for the 2009 SMPTE Tech Conference and Expo and will begin with an industry panel presentation, followed by technical demonstration and end with a Cocktail Reception. The Seminar and Reception are sponsored by Cinegy.
Mark Horton said that: "the AMWA is an important organization because it gives manufacturers and users a common forum to hammer out practical solutions to real world problems”.
“In the end we're all one community. Anyone coming to the seminar, whether they are end users, vendors, or from other areas of the industry, will have the chance to see some of the latest work on interoperability and have a detailed dialog with their peers about their own organizations ideas and needs for their own organizations. It's important that interoperability development is balanced between being driven by vendor engineering and the user’s requirements. The AMWA is in a unique position to make that happen. “
Horton continued: You rarely get this quality of experience on the floor of a trade show. By the end of the conference, people should be able to take away new ideas which will be of practical benefit to their organizations either today or in the near future".
Mark Horton will be familiar to many as the original Marketing Director of the AAF Association, the forerunner of the AMWA. His original background was in post-production. He later joined Sony and then Quantel, in product management roles. Mark Horton is now Product Marketing Manager at AmberFin.
